Summer update 2025
#1

Hey everybody, it's me again, here to assure you all once again, that while our progress is still going slower than we'd prefer, it is still going.

To go into more specifics...

  • The game's introduction is nearly complete! Luckily, all we are missing at the moment are the animations for Prince Alexander, and those will be completed very soon. In due time, the entire intro will be finished and implemented.

  • The outro animations are next on our priority list, after we fill in the missing game animations. Luckily, most the animations regarding Rosella's tasks are all complete, we are currently filling in any that might be missing as we are able to.

  • We have a new title screen completely set up in the current game build, along with a new GUI!

  • Lolotte's animations are almost all completed, and she now has great portraits to accompany her lines in the game!

  • There are some scenes in the game that we wanted to add a little extra touch to, such as the mummy scenes. We have completed some scenes to address that, and they will soon be completely set up in the game, once we get audio and SFX added to it. There are some additional ones, but we want to avoid any spoilers! Wink

  • Most of the assets for all the major tasks are done, but need a bit of fine tuning.

Aside from all that, we've gotten a few good cutscenes made, involving some events of the game's climax. They're a bit spoilery though, so... yeah.

We also had a bit of trouble getting some things implemented lately, but we've made contact with a new potential scripter, who is currently helping us in that regard.

I'm sure there are other things I've missed, but I'll be sure to update this post if and when I'm told of any. I know this isn't as good as a new trailer or any other kind of visual update, but... maybe next time, I'll see if I can provide one of those. Until then, I hope you'll continue to have faith in our project!

Farewell for now! Smile

Thanks for the update! Don't worry about slow progress. It means the world to me that there are passionate people out there bringing this game forward, creating something new in the world. I'm sure I am not the only one here who would say that King's Quest IV is one of the most important games of their childhood and I am so grateful that these individuals are giving their time to this project. Truly, thank you to everyone involved for everything you have done to get things this far. It is appreciated.

Thanks JS,

When the intro is finished we can post it online (youtube), just to throw a bone to our very loyal fans

Yes, I do like that idea.  Of course, we should make sure to show a disclaimer and tribute screen to Karen, at the start.
